If the term "don't judge a book by its cover" applied to desserts, it would certainly apply here. The "Tartufo" is an odd looking desert, a hard brownish plum sized "lump" oozing brown liquid at its base. Also, you aren't quite sure how to eat it since your fork doesn't really break open its hard shell ... so I just flipped it over and ate it from the bottom. Despite its "artistic" exterior, the Tartufo is a solid combination of dark chocolate ice cream, swirled with tart dried cherries, and fragrant hazelnuts. Its hard shell is basically frozen Nutella, and everyone knows how good that is!
