One of the first things you see in the open kitchen at Blue Duck Tavern is these pies. They're lined up along a marble countertop in the pastry station just inside the front door. One look and all you can think about all dinner long is that pie. Oh, that pie. Caramel drizzled on top. Appropriately tart apples inside, not too gooey, not too dry. Two must dos: a. share with a friend, this thing is huge, and b. order vanilla ice cream to go with it. That nagging voice that started the minute you saw the pies will be more than satisfied.
