I’d never had chichorones before, but the sweet baker behind the counter at Castleberry’s Adios Café got me with her smile and free sample assault. Immediately suckered in, I bought an entire bag ($2) of these fluffy-yet-crunchy, pretzel-shaped additive Mexican treats. They taste somewhere between fried dough and cinnamon toast crunch. Looks crispy but almost evaporates in your mouth due to the airiness, leaving you mostly with the cinnamon-sugar and a fried aftertaste (delish). Polishing off an entire bag in one sitting isn’t that unusual. Consider yourself warned.
