Mom was right--having dessert before dinner will totally ruin your appetite. But who could turn down one of this Indonesian restaurant's sugary drinks? The es cendol is a tropical blend of palm sugar, coconut milk and green strips the consistency of tapioca pearls, all poured over crushed ice. The result is a brain-freezingly cold dessert that is probably better after your nasi goring than before it.
