I knew I made the right breakfast choice at Hugo's when the server looked at me strangely and said, "Uh, that's more of a dessert..." Regardless, this gluten-free mountain of freshly whipped cream (is that vanilla bean flecks that I spy?), agave syrup, berries and sweet corn cakes looked enough like a parfait to justify calling it breakfast. The corn cakes are subtly sweet with a crumbly, bread-like consistency, and the dish isn't cavity-inducing or heavy enough to feel guilty eating at 10am... At least that's what I keep telling myself!
